Frequently Asked Questions

Why do prayer times look different on my device?

Prayer times are calculated based on your device location and chosen calculation method. Open Settings → Worship → Prayer Time Source and select the method suitable for your region (Diyanet for Turkey, Umm al-Qura for the Gulf, Muslim World League for Europe, etc.).

At high latitudes (Scandinavia, Alaska, Northern Russia) where the sun does not reach 18° astronomical darkness, the app uses a safe SeventhOfTheNight fallback — this may differ by a few minutes from some reference sites like Aladhan.

How do I cancel my subscription?

iOS: iPhone Settings → Your Apple ID → Subscriptions → Ezan ve Dua → Cancel.

Android: Google Play Store → Profile → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → Ezan ve Dua → Cancel.

After cancellation, premium features remain active until the end of the current billing period. No further charges will be made.

I want to permanently delete my account

From the app: Profile → Settings → Account → Delete My Account. After a two-step confirmation, all your account data (prayer logs, dhikr history, hatim progress, favorites — everything except payment records) is permanently deleted.

Alternatively, email destek@ezanvedua.com with the subject "Account deletion request". We process it within 72 hours.

Adhan notifications are not coming

Checklist:

  • In app: Settings → Adhan Settings — turn on the master switch and the specific prayers.
  • iOS Settings: Settings → Notifications → Ezan ve Dua — "Allow Notifications" should be on.
  • If your iPhone is in silent mode, iOS suppresses the system notification sound — this is an Apple restriction, not an app limitation.
  • Focus modes defer notifications; add Ezan ve Dua to the important notifications list.
  • Low Power Mode may disable some background refresh operations.
The Qibla direction looks wrong

The compass sensor requires calibration:

  • Move away from metal and magnetic objects.
  • Move the phone in a figure-8 motion in the air — iOS auto-calibrates the compass.
  • Settings → Privacy → Location Services → Compass Calibration must be on.
  • Close and reopen the Qibla screen in the app.
What does the dhikr widget counter show?

The number on the widget is the cumulative total of dhikr recorded each time you pressed "Save" (or automatically when the counter reached the goal). The in-app counter resets, but the accumulated widget count keeps growing.

To reset: Settings → Widget Appearance → Reset Widget Counter. This does not affect your in-app daily dhikr records.

Is my data safe?

Yes. Your worship logs, dhikr, and personal notes are stored encrypted. In our server database, Row Level Security (RLS) ensures only you can access your own data.

Analytics data is anonymous and controlled by a separate toggle (Settings → Privacy → Usage Data). We are KVKK and GDPR compliant; the "Delete My Account" option triggers an irreversible data deletion.

For details: Privacy Policy.

How can I use the app on multiple devices?

Sign in to the same account on both devices (Profile → Link Account to bind your guest account to an email). Worship logs, favorite dhikr, hatim progress, and premium subscription sync automatically across devices.

The Vefa yearly subscription includes 2-person family sharing.

Can I request a refund?

Subscription refunds are handled directly by Apple App Store or Google Play (subject to their respective policies):

  • Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com
  • Google: Play Store → Account → Purchase history → Related item → Report a problem
